I need the "key"- Boiler Daddy question
My new/used 97 312 Fastech has "high security" type cam locks holding up the circuit breaker panel in the cuddy cabin. This panel is where the cd changer is secured to with blind nuts. The panel is secured from the bottom with Southco 1/4 turn fastners that require a "pop machine" type round key. Where can I get one? There was not one included in the Formula package where the original keys still reside.......I need one to change the cd changer to a new one, same manufacturer (kenwood), but it is smaller so I need access to the panel.:D
This fastner is not shown in the Southco product catalogue on line. What is it? Still available? What is used on the new 312's? |

If so, they are still available.
I found this info in their paper catalog. |
I cannot remember the part number for that thing any more (#0969?), but call one of the boys at 260-724-1412 and ask for the part number. They'll tell you how to get one.

If it helps...I just got mine via UPS the item number/location is 0268 01A07 and the description reads, Latch compression "Key" E3-5-15. This fits the "locks" on a 1993 F 303 SR1. Hope that helps!

:) Sorry, I was out of the office yesterday so I could not answer above. Axapowell got it right tho'. Per Darrell at Formula, their part# is 0268, & is available/instock. I tried West Marine & Boats US, but neiother handle Southco products.
Who does? Is their anywhere else to order these than from Formula? A longer process & double shipping charges, delay, delay! Info would be helpful:D |
You could always unscrew the circuit breaker panel it'self and not fold it down. Just an idea. I've done it before....it's only six screws.

Removing the AC/DC is what I did to get access. However, I am kind of a nit-picker when something is not as it should be. With the panel out I simply turned one of the fastners to release it, the second one would NOT turn, so I removed it. Now to get the key, to see if that will make it turn or not. If not, then I get to order a new panel lock also.
It's always something! |
