trs and draining and filling a borg warner
were and how do you drain and fill a trs borg warner thats in a 84 f302. i think someone said it takes type F fluid and two quarts?

I just pull it out the dipstick but there is a drain plug in there some place.... Not sure were.

The drain plug is actually where the cooler return line connects. It will be on the opposite side from the dipstick way down low. If your trying to do this in the boat your best bet will do like audiofn said and suck it out of the dipstick fill.
In regards to capacity 2 quarts is a good place to start but depending on the size of the cooler and the length of the lines will vary the capacity. The bog Warner manual recommends running the engine in neutral above 1000 rpms for several minutes or until tranny temp comes up then shut engine off an check fluid level immediately. This is so you get an accurate gearbox level before the fluid in the cooler and lines drain back. If you want to be able to check it cold then perform the check warm first and wait 24 hours for the fluid to drain back and make your own "cold" mark on the dipstick. |
