I have not topped her out yet, got the boat to 76mph, max rpm on these motors are 6000. Im hoping the 28lab props will get me the rpm. bblads tweaked them but they do not think i will see that rpm with these props, might have to get 27's

How many rpm's were they turning at 76? What happened to your stock motors?

Very Nice! Really clean installation.
Is this the engine? http://sites.mercurymarine.com/porta..._schema=PORTAL Do you have any problem finding 91 octane? How do they sound compared to the orginal 6.2's? I bet they really wake-up that 292! Let us know what you can get out of her. |
4mulafstech yes that is the engine, i had the plenum covers painted blue and the valve covers powder coated, as far as the sound, when i have the exhaust open, at idle and when its running it sounds really good you can hear the cam. as far as the power its like having a new boat. the midrange is superb, i have not topped here out yet. Im going to see this weekend. i run 93 octane it all the time.

Can't wait to hear results. This is firming up my decision for a 292 with scorpions

Did you have to trim or shorten the Quick&Quite Corsa Y-pipes to fit the Stainless Marine exhaust manifolds? |

You do know that you can not get these engines in a new 292 and they are totaly different from stock 6.2s 377 ci ? |

Are there any performance numbers on the 383 Scorpion Formula yet?
I've recieved my 2004 292 Fastech /w 377 Scorpions a week ago. It ran 74,8mph on GPS the first run with full tank and 3 passengers. I absolutely love this boat. A whole other deal than the 271. |

A whole other deal than the 271. is it enough to go to the 292 once youve had the 271? or do you need to get a 312 or bigger to feel like youve really stepped up in ride and space? |
The step was the right one for me at least. It feels like a bigger difference than 2ft, and I will probably stay with the 292 for a while now.
But I guess it all depends on where you're boating. |
