SR1 Mcleod bolsters....upgrade/repairs

I posted before that I have had problems with the air cylinders leaking down on my bolsters. Has anyone done a conversion to electric cylinders or even rigged up something to hold the bolsters up? I really dont feel like spending $400 or so for each cylinder. Im just looking for an easy and cheap fix so people can sit while under way. Any info would be great.

Thanks:readinghelp:

just get a piece of flat stock steel, drill two holes in it and replace the actuator with it. It will hold the seat in the up position until you replace or rebuild the actuator.

i just ordered linear actuators to convert mine. Looks like about $200 per side will get me there. I'll let you know how it goes next week.

I would like to see how this goes as well. Mine are in bad shape and have not really worked right from day one.

Did you ever get this figured out?

i have all the parts sitting in my shop, but I've been so busy I haven't had time to even start it. I have several days off next week and hope to get to this project.

Ok. This is definitely in the cards for me as mine are just about shot. Would you mind e-mailing me the parts list? [email protected]

I have the same issue to fix...how did this project turn out???

just a little update. I haven't had my boat out in almost 2 years, but I did manage to finally get after this electric conversion. The first seat took me about 2 hours to get all figured out but it works great! I haven't gotten to the 2nd seat yet, but I think I can probably do it while still mounted in the boat and in under an hour. I will try and get some pics and/or video.

Would love to see the conversion.
