Need help on adhesive to re-attach Hatch support arm

1999 280 SS
The hatch support arm (or whatever you call it) for the hatch in the cuddy has come "unglued" and I'm having problems finding the proper adhesive to reattach.

Per Magicfloat, Bomar touts their bonding agent as a secret, unduplicatable process. I don't care to duplicate their process--I'd prefer a process that actually WORKS. We try to encourage our girls (3 and 6) to camp out in the cuddy and watch their DVD players and let Mommy an Daddy enjoy the sun. Without being able to prop open the hatch, these 98 degree Alabama June days make the cuddy uninhabitable.:evilb:

Any thoughts?

5200. That stuff will stick anything together for eternity :)

Are you talking about the Bomar hatch where the round part is "glued" to the bottom of the hatch.......If so, I've had to re-attach 2 of them, once on each of my previous boats where the kids left a hatch un-clamped and 60 mph wind lifted them. Neither ever came back off.
PM me a reminder, I still have a tube of the stuff (acrylic cement?) at the house and will post the name of it tonight.......worked great.

That's EXACTLY what I need. Have tried everything from epoxy to Gorilla Glue and nothing seems to stick properly.

Will PM right now. THANKS!

Steve

The stuff is called Weld-On acrylic cement #16 on the tube....red and white tube with black. Paid about $10 bucks for it a couple years ago.

Cool, thanks for the info. I tried some rear view mirror adhesive which, in hindsight and not surprisingly, didn't work at all.

That's perfect. Just what I needed. Thanks a million. I owe you a beer!
