couldn't find the thread where someone asked about wieght...

scaled my rig

Truck: '06 D'Max 4WD CC, no persons, zero cargo, full of fuel, 18's, big DynaPro ATM rubber, push bar, other misc. accessories.
7120 lbs.

boat: '02 353, 496 HO's, heavily optioned, Eagle Premier trailer w/ tool boxes, electric jack,
boat ready to hit the ramp, as in full of fuel, all typical boat gear + aboard, 60 lb. cooler, half talk of water,
probably 150 lbs. of amps/subs and anchors/chains as the heaviest additional gear

13660 lbs. on the trailer

Total 20780 lbs.

over 21K with me in the truck!

I will wiegh the trailer only as soon as the oppurtunity presents

interesting to note with the trailer on took 120 lbs. off the front axle of the truck
and shows a tongue wieght of 980 lbs. via additional scaled rear axle wieght with the boat on.
ideally 12-1300 lbs. tongue wieght would seem more correct, but the trailer is LEVEL hooked, and it all goes down the road arrow straight.

I wouldn't have thought a 353 would way that much

Eagle steel trailer? What does Eagle say the trailer weighs? For a 353, plus all the extras, say 2500-3000lbs? As for the boat, sounds like it's underweight vs. catalog? 9600 dry plus 1000lbs fuel +++ would equal 11,000+? Or perhaps everything is spot on actually...

I think triple axle trailers can get away with less tongue weight because they're just harder to turn; they naturally want to go straight.

I've always guessed the trailer wieght around 2500 lbs.
so it all adds up pretty close.

I'll have to dig up the trailer paperwork see what they put down for wieght, though who knows if that's accurate.

My total weight for my dually (2000 Chevy 7.4l gas, quad cab, 8' box), boat(353), trailer(steel Viper) and half load of fuel (75 gallons) was 19,120 on the Cat scale in Parish. I weighed it again the same day without the boat and got 9300 for the truck and trailer. Truck is 7180, trailer is 2120 and the boat is 9820.

With your extra tool boxes and gear, I would put your trailer at around 2500, that makes sense. Sounds right on to me.

I recently picked up a left over '08 353 with a Phoenix steel trailer. According to the trailer manufacturer the trailer weighs 2860 lbs. Formula says the boat is 9400 dry.

9400+2860+1050 (fuel)+ 200 (gear)=13510

I need a bigger truck!

Published weight for my Eagle with 16.5's and honking big "Camper Special" tires is 2600 pounds. I've never weighed the whole rig but the boat is 7400 dry. So that's 10k with no stuff or fuel, probably 11k loaded up. That put's me within the rating of my 2500 big block Burb but just barely. The truck pulls it fine but it doesn't want any more boat than it's pulling now (it told me so:drink:).
