Difference between Formula 336 and Fastech 353

Hi!

What is the difference between Formula 336 and Formula Fastech 353 except the steps (handling and speed)?

I can get hold of a 1996 Formula 336 w/twin 525 SCi compressor laden engines of 490 HP each for Euro 70.000/USD 62.000.

The boat is mint condition and engines have 120 hrs on them. Advertised speed is 85 mph - sound a little fast for me...

Any experiences?

Cheers and thanks, Toffen - Norway

I own a 336. These boats are pretty much the same.. 353's are faster because of the steps. Cabins are approx the same but I like my U-shape lounge better than the 353, which is slightly moe squared. 525 sc motor have always been regarded as reliable and the speed is probably 80- 83 mph as my 502's run 70-72. I think 500 hps would not brake 80 unless perfect conditions, but I'm not an authority on the subject. I love my 336 (1995) and only see the need for steps as a way to acheive every last MPH. As for the $$$$, It sounds like a steal. A dealer would give him between 70- 75,000 trade value on a bad day.
