hey guys i have a 87 223ls and i am looking to upgrade to a bigger boat. i found two different boats for the same price a 1987 272 with twin 350 or 1989 272 with twin 454 is there a big difference or what? thanks

Does either of them have Bravo Drives? If one does and they are both in the same overall condition then I would pick that one.

I had a 85 272 with 350s and alphas was a bulletproof setup ran it for 8 years just normal maintance.

biggest differance is the bravo's, I'm sure you know that bravo is a better drive then an alpha, on the other hand the 87 probally has 350's and alpha's and the 350's have alot more room in the engine compartment for maintence

I have also heard that with the 350's the 272 is a little better balanced. That being said I would really lover to have bravos on my boat, but the alphas will have to do for now.

Buy the '89 and put small blocks in it. :D

The BBC boats usually got the zero effort controls and k-planes with indicators. Nice to have if everything else is otherwise equal.

Your should just get an 86 242 that sits on your neighbors dock. You can't handle a 272 :)
