Seat switches..?

We all know McCloud doesn't respond. My question is,are the switches made by a different company? I ordered two switches from our local Formula dealer, and even they are having trouble. I seem to break one a year. First on my 312 and now on the 382. Mine are the white ones BTW.

Any switch will work. I will try and take a look at the ones at my shop and see if I can get you a part number.

Probably made by Carling or SwitchCraft

The switches on my 382 are from Carling but they would not sell to me direct. The switch has a special bezel which precludes buying from a distributor.

You need to be careful. Mine were originally black. I thought white would look better so I bought white when one of the black ones failed. The whites are a little taller. I have not figured out how to pull the wires down to give them room.

Can you use extra wire to make the overall length longer?

The problem is that the switch extends into the seat about 1/8" farther than the original. The cavity is small and there are 4 fairly heavy gage wires . If I screw down the bezel the pressure from the wires causes the switch to pop out of the bezel. I am probably going to machine a thicker bezel to make it work but I am afraid that people will get scraped or hung up on it.

Try twisting the switch around a few times as you push it in, or just reach in there and remove some material.
