353 with Volvo Penta with Duo Props
 

Has anyone ever heard of this setup on a 353? I am looking at one and would like to know some background and performance metrics on this setup and pro's and con's.

I have a 2000 382 with the 600/DPX package and have been very pleased. It's a bit slower than a Bravo boat, but handles great both at speed and around the docks. The engines were built by Innovation and are VERY good. The DPX's are now out of production, and parts are starting to get a bit tricky to find, particularly lower gear sets. Since I do not believe that the 600's were offered in the 353, the boat you're looking at probably has either 500 or 525 Innovations, which should not cause any drive issues. The engines are close-cooled, which is a definite plus.

Thanks for the info, they are the 500's and I am a newby on this forum and figuring out the way it works, I currently have a 271 and looking to upgrade to a 353 or 382
