Outdrive trim Problem
 

We have a 292 fastech 2003...We are having a problem where our starboard side drive wont drop down from the trailer position...it sounds like the pump turns on when the switch is engaged...Any suggestions as to what to look for? The fluid level looks fine, doesnt look like the ram is leaking...Thanks.

Could be a frozen trim ram. Happened to my 2000 260ss a number of years ago. It was cover under the Formula guard warranty.

i was thinking a frozen ram ...its wierd. eventually the drive will raise and lower after a few attempts. i stood on the drive while trying to lower it...that helped. i am going to check the fluid level again. maybe i have trapped air in the lines...

Take off the end of the ram that attaches to the drive. Then try and turn the end of it. If it does not turn then you have a frozen ram. They can be rebuilt fairly easily or buy new.
