272 SR1 Help with gauges, cup holders quick please
I have an opportunity to replace all of my gauges and cup holders really, really cheap but I need some info asap!!
The boat is shrink wrapped and my memory is failing me. I know there are 10 gauges total in the dash but what are they and what size? I know 2 tachs, speedo, 2 oil pressure, 2 water temp, fuel....that is 8. What am I forgetting? 2 for voltage or 1? And what else? Are they 3 1/3 amd 2 1/8???? Last, factory cup holders....how many and what size???? HELP HELP HELP!!!! |
I've got a 292 SR-1 and here is what I have:
2 - 6K Tachs 1- Speedo 2 - Fuel Pressure (0-30lbs.) 4 - Water Temperature 2 - Volt/Amps 1 - Gas Gauge I also have 1 hour meter gauge near the ignition switches. My gauges are 2" and the speedo and tachs are 3-3/8" Hope that helps! |
I would assunme your gauge sizing is probably the same...althought the layout sounds different....4 temp gauges?
|
Yeah...
I thought that was weird too. I bought the boat as a full-on complete restoration so I never had it in the water but I did run it and all four gauges registered and were working. I never checked to see what they were monitoring as of yet! |
I have a 357 but the gauges should be the same. Just was looking at them last weekend. 3 3/8" for tach and spedo. 2 1/16" for the rest.
1 spedo 2 tachs 1 Fuel 2 volts 2 oil pressure 2 water temp 2 hour meter There are 4 cup holders all of them are 3". 2 up front and 2 next to the back bench. Just measured them last week end. Hope this helps. |

Hey, Markkua if you don't mind me asking, What brand of gauges and how much did you pay. I want to replace mine with autometers and was thinking of going with CP. Did you get free bazels with them?

Just a thought, if you buy the tachs with the built in hour meters, you'll have 2 open spots for useful gauges like a couple oil temp or water pressure gauges. I'm replacing mine in the spring, going with oil temp for sure. '88 357
I actually had them sitting there and forgot to actually add them to what I bought....damn it!!! Guess I gotta go back!!! |
I'm still trying to decide on the face color. What color did you go with? The black dash kinda limits your choices.

Wow, that isn't bad. I think I was looking at about $400 from eddie marine for one panel. What did you have to do, send them your old panels?

Thanks 382....your pics have been a great help....i am pretty sqaured away with the gauges now. Actually adding a few (oil temp).
I have one more question, I can get a great price on a nice shifter bezel.....does anyone know if thes twin engine controls (4 handle) are a standard size? Or does anyone know the dimensions on the shifter that came in the 272??? |
I have a 1995 382 sr1 and need to replace my oil gauges because the mechanic said that when the engines were rebuilt it has American senders and the gauges I have are European. Can anyone help me on which are the ones I need and where to get them inexpensively?
