Congrats, bought a new one for my boat last spring. Nice trailer and good service, my only little issue so far and is something you might run into since your boat is the same size roughly as mine. The trailer sits fairly low, and on some steeper ramps the front crossmember will high center and drag. This spring I am going to have to grind down the spot since it got scraped pretty good and started to rust. Thinking I will weld on a roller to keep it from wearing through the tube. Something you may want to ask about and save some trouble in the future.

Thanks, most of the ramps by me are not steep at all so a lower trailer will actually help me.

Have had three of his trailers now. a 94', 05', and a 08'. All for 33-38 foot boats. Loved them all.

That price seems reasonable for what you get. Post some pictures when you can please.

I thought so also, plus both times I called the owner picked up the phone. Not some minimum wage customer service rep it feels good to buy something actually made in the USA.

Great to deal with, highly recommended.

That looks stout. Nice with tandem axles, it should turn ALOT easier. Curious why you went with surge brakes vs. EOH.

Also how long is it?

jmeng 05-02-2011 07:42 AM

Looks great.

handfulz28 05-02-2011 07:55 AM

Are the Bow stop and winch post aluminum also? Leafs or torsion?

Amazing price! I was quoted $5500 for an AmeraTrail for a 21' trailer. Even if you back out the $1100 for the powdercoat, that Manning is a great value.

Bummer he didn't lower the bow stop/winch post to account for Formula's lower bow eye.

looks great

SS930 05-02-2011 01:27 PM

$5500 is a great price. For a triple axle in aluminum for a 37 I was quoted $10k with the same options. I guess I should wait until winter and inquire again!?!?!

88242LS 05-02-2011 01:44 PM

now that I'm thinking of it I shopped manning they wanted 5k for my 271 trailer

About 32 feet, surge brakes have always worked fine for me plus I tow this with a dually.Never had a trailer with anything else so I bought what I knew.and yes it is very stout I think its heavier than my old steel one.

Winch post is aluminum, bow stop is steel. It has torsion suspension. As for the winch with the way Formula puts the hook I really don't think it could be lower. My old trailer was to low and it was a huge pain to load so i'm ok were is.I was running 80 coming back from Michigan it tracks perfectly.

offthefront 05-02-2011 10:14 PM

so did you pull your boat over to Manning to make sure of a fit? ....they do a great job .... cpl of times I have talked to them "mom" answered the phone ....shoot I think I got a price for my 311 a cpl of years ago of 7500.00 ....m

No,he built it from specs he had he did say they have done 292 trailers before. It was a perfect fit just had to move the bow stop about 2 inches but Rob told me I might have to do that.I think a 311 would need a triple axle but I'm fine with a tandem weight wise thats probably why the difference in price.

SS930 05-03-2011 09:03 AM

Okay, so $5500 for a tandem, $7500 for a triple, and $10,000 for a triple for me... great! :grinser010:

Don't know why, maybe an Outerlimits is more involved than a Formula with supports for the hull. Not in charge of pricing just very happy with my trailer.

SS930 05-03-2011 11:38 AM

My guess is the slight increase in materials for the additional footage and more likely higher capacity axles and brakes. Still a pretty significant increase though...

Regardless, I've heard good things about them and I will likely just wait until winter and then order one then... it has to be a little cheaper when nobody is ordering! :D
