97 312 Fastech value
I'm thinking (allthough killing me to do) of moving up to a 353.
Wondering what my 312 could be sold for, any thoughts? only 208 hrs on boat, 454 mag mpi's, Vortech breathers, Offshore exhaust w/ S/S risers and elec. selectable Teague S/S exhaust tips, braided fuel lines. Bravo 1 drives with showers and 4 blade bravo 1 props labbed by B-blades. Full Hyd steering. New paint by Mitcher T and tri-axel Eagle trailer. No scratches anywhere. Interior looks new. Awsome tunes. Elec. bolsters and foot pads. rear deck shower, Boat tops out at 73 on GPS.:drink: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzkLaf3kG8Y |
Low $40's at best with the paint.......and that's assuming the black dash is now white.
I got $52K for a loaded 98 with fresh 502's, K-planes, etc, even added an A/C unit........in 2006. |

Low 40's seems low from what I see they are going for on here,I boats and e-bay. Most these 312s come loaded K-planes etc. No A/C though..Where could you have put that on a 312?
No.....that seems low for what people are asking, look how long they have been for sale. I removed the porta-potti and installed it in there. Carried the porta-potti in the floor for the few times we really needed it. Built a cabinet to house the controls and 2 vents, one forward, one aft. Even added a bed extension so our heads weren't tucked up into the narrow part of the V-berth |

I would think that is pretty close.......I sold mine in 2002 I think. Here is the flyer I did for it......I ended up getting $62K. Can folks finance a boat now that is over 10 years old? Do you need a cash buyer?

hey t500hp do you have any photos of bed extension framework, and where do you store it

2002 was still bringing pretty good money, by 2006 things were dropping......now the market is in the toilet. I believe going from a 1997 312 to a 2003ish 353 is going to cost you $50K out of pocket......you can sell yours for $40K and buy a nice 353 for $90K now, or wait til your boat is (hopefully) worth $50K but then that 353 is worth $100K. |
with the way financing is going now adays...you might be stuck selling to a cash buyer. (i.e. my parents just tried to refinance our beach house and were denied citing not enough collateral...even though my parents own two other houses outright with no mortgages with est values of 1 mil and 225k)...you figure that one out!!!
its even worse for non necessity items like boats...good luck with the sale. |
We did our financing through Glen Cove Marine on our 1997 382. 10% down, low interest rate. terms up to 15 years for a boat of that age. The only kicker you will have is the person getting the loan will have to have a 720 or better score and a DTI of no more than 40%.

720's are hard to come by...if you dont mind me asking what was your interest rate? I remember when I was looking it was at 6.7% through sterling boat banker.

I had a friend that tried with essex credit and they told him you needed a 680 or higher. He did the online app and it come back declined because his credit was a 714 and the minimum was 720. Watch who you go through. There is a real bate and switch with these lenders. Most of them are brokers and they will run your credit through a ton of lenders bringing your score down and your interest rates higher.
