33 SS? how do they handle, how fast, good boat?

im on the fence on what my next boat will be, im looking at 33 SS between 2002 and 2005 with 496's or a 32 powerquest sc or a 34 viper. the 33ss and 32 sc are my basic choices first do to the way the boat is set up, im wondering how the 33 handles big water, how fast it runs and over all experiance with the boats.
most of my boating is done in 2-4 foot seas with the bad days getting into the 6-8 footers. its no fun at all on my current boat (26 checkmate) but how do these boats do?
any pics would be nice as well.
thanks

My brother owned a 08 ss with 496's. Great boat. I think he could see low 60's if I rememeber correct. Our water doesn't get too big but it handled everything he threw at it really well. Nice layout and felt much bigger than a 33

Have owned my 2002 - 330SS w/496s for a single season thus far and have about 45-50hrs seat time. My prior boat 35' Cigarette. That said, the 330SS does "alright" in 2-3's, but really no comparison at ALL to a 24* deadrise hull - as far as what it can handle. The wider (10'6") beam def. takes it's toll and takes away from the performance and handling aspects. It 'slaps' the water much more than my Cigarette (really no surprise there though). As stated, mine does have the 496's (mags) and it does touch 60mph, barely, in right conditions and combinations IE: weight on board, fuel, sea, etc.

So, it is really a substantial trade-off, for me anyway, in handling and performance, BUT! like I said no surprise really there ;) I bought this boat for many other reasons and I love the rest of the boat 120% better than my 1985 Mistress. The quality of the Bird is unsurpassed in every respect. Everything over built and great quality! - Full head, shower, all the amenities you could want/need. Windlass  incredible, do not know how i ever survived without one - getting older I guess  :evilb: Fresh water cooled - kitchen - sound system I can actually HEAR! LOL :D

I could go on and on ... but I think you get the point ... it is actually what exactly you are 'looking' for in a boat that is key to this type decision ... IMHO If you need to talk or discuss ... gimme a shout anytime 732.300.5222 Chris :drink:
