292 SR1 Props and Speed?
I've got an 89 292 SR1 with 454 Mag engines and I need a set of props. What are you guys running and what speeds are you getting. It seems the the Mirage Plus 23's are the standard choice but I've also read that this combo likes Hydromotive Quad IV props as well. Looking for info on this!

I owned a 90 292 with the 454 mags and ran 25" mirage. I installed stainless marine exhaust with long risers and boat ran 68-70 mph. Boat picked up 4-5 mph with the stainless marine exhaust system. Ended up installing external hydraulic steering and that really helped the ride quality of the boat. With the factory steering, the boat would wonder in the wind. I wore out the steering arms in the bravos within a year or two of owning the boat. It was my first formula and was really an excellent boat for me. Also, I ended up with a white rub rail and I also painted the deck hatches white and installed white lexan in the hatches also. Really updated the boat. Good luck!!!

Thanks! I was wrong on my engine. They're standard 330 engines not mags. Do you think I can turn a set of Hydromotive QIV 24 pitch props? I also found a set of Hydromotive Quad IV 22 pitch.
