Leaning to the right??
On my 01 353 the boat always seems to want to lean to the right... What would cause this? I have to drop the right tab to about 2-3 just to get it to run level. Any suggestions?
(No im not a fat ass either):lolhit: |
Is your Left tab bleeding down? I had trouble with this on mine and had to have the tab cylinder rebuilt. Solved it.

Try switching props. If one is out it could cause an odd running angle.

is the wheel on the right? is it a diet and excercise problem?? :D

That's why I always put the cooler on the port (left) side.

Does it sit low on the right when it's sitting still as well?

The props are spinning in if that makes a difference.

For what its worth. Even though the props turn in opposite directions, The engines will torque the boat to the right.

My 292 Fastech tends to lean left while underway requiring a bit of port tab to keep her level. Has done it since new. I figured it is due to the weight of the sink and cabinets located on the port side in the cabin. Just a thought. It could also be due to slight variation in the hull. Any other 292 owners notice this?

My 98 353 does the same. I'm 6'6" 219lbs. Would this cause it to lean right? (tab to correct)

Port or Starboard :D

make sure the drives and the tabs are where inicated ...also the relationship to the seas can have an affect on running attitude ....m

Same Issue
I have an '05 353 and have the same issue. I did some simple test and it appears to be mostly when the drives are tucked in closer to the transom. Also, when the boat is leaning, (for me to the port side), before making any adjustments, have a passenger move to the other side and see what it does. I have found the 353 to be very sensitive to the slightest weight adjustment in the boat. I also noticed when I'm running on plane with drives and tabs adjusted perfectly the boat will list slightly from one side to the other depending on water & wave conditions. I have concluded that it is inherent in the hull design. Not so much an issue once you know how to compensate, assuming its not a huge correction that's needed.
I have described it to friends as a boat that you have to "drive", not so much a boat that you can sit back with one finger on the wheel and the other hand wrapped around a cold brew. :coolcowboy: |
