Formula 272 SR1

Considering getting a 1989 272 w/ twin 454mags. What can you do to them to make the boat run faster? Do you need new engines or can you tweak the ones you got?

What is the size progression in the Marine engine line? ie: 330,454,???,??? etc. These are Chevy's Correct.

They are Big Block Chevy's...so you go from 454 to 496 to 502 with stock castings and then to 572 or 600+ cu in with the after market stuff.

The 454 Mags will push that boat into the high 60's and get to 70+ with a bit of tuning and playing with props. You can easily spend $10K~$15K chasing 80 with that boat building from what you have and end up with something that you have to constantly fool around with.

Run what you have for a while and get some water time with it before you decide to spend cubic dollars to go faster.:evilb:

fountain will gain you a cpl extra miles an hour with same power, formula will be a better overall boat with more room
