382 w/ 600's
Is anyone familier with how well the 600's with the SCi ITS Bravo One XR drives are holding up in the 382 Fastechs ?

We have gone through drives but our setup is with the Stelling Extension Boxes. I was recently told that dampers might help and I am trying to find a solution. I think the ITS XR has a longer shaft and maybe couples into a convensional HP damper? Part of the problem that I have with the XR's is certainly bad driver habits but old habits are hard to change.

depends on how/where you boat...6 people and 200 gallons of fuel and big water you will need to carry a spare drive....if most of the time your are in protected waters and you and the wife/girlfriend are going across the lake to grab a bite for lunch and make a cruise up river to the sand bar then all is good...i agree with premier....you can tear up anything at anytime and alot depends on the driver....bottom line is that is a heavy boat with decent power and $hit can/will break....good luck

I had a 382 with built 540's (made 630hp, 700tq fully dressed). Not much hard driving and kept the XR's together for a couple years. Went to 5 blades and both of them went inside of 12 months.

600's
I had 3 drives for a 525 boat. Especially with stellings and no drive coupler. I would say its a tough on drives package

Wow. I feel way better about having been through two drives in 12 seasons/620 hours with my 600 boat... :drink:

Thank you all for your input. I just made a deal over the phone yesterday. Flying out soon for the seatrial. Hope to have it home for Thanksgiving and maybe a run in the Chesapeake before winter gets here.
