382 on trailer, HOW tall?
 

Would someone please mesure this for me?

building garage and this is one of the larger boats i am looking at buys so need to make sure i have a big enouhgt door?

thinking 10 foot would cover me, but I have it prced with a 12. but 12 will look stupid i think.

My 357 is a little over 8' to top of windshield. My trailer has a rear gate, so is higher than normal. Go with the 10' door.

My 382 cleared a 10 ft door but it was close. I just built a garage and put in 12 wide x 14 tall doors.

I would rather a 10 foot, BUT think a 12 foot would help when reselling casue motor homes would fit too..

this is a matching garage in a neighborhood... ... 20 X 50 so not sure how weird a 16W X 12H door is going to look ha.

Just go with the high ceilings, and put a 10' door on it.

If ever needed, raise the header and add a panel or 2 as needed. The 10' door advertises a little less that you have something big and expensive in there.

BTW: I was going with 12 tall doors but my neighbor bought an RV......it's 12'8" to the top of the AC unit on the roof. 14 became the requirement. Sydwayz idea isn't bad. Enlarging the opening and a bigger door isn't that expensive.......raising the roof and header will be.

As the same on any of these threads, there are tons of variables which makes this no exact science:

Tire size
Wheel size
Torsion or leaf suspension
Weld together trailer or bolt together trailer
Steel trailer or aluminum
Lifted truck, tires, wheels
Flat land or hill
Pavement or gravel driveway (you can scoop gravel out of the driveway so the rear truck tires dip low just as the windscreen clears a door).
And different boats sit on different trailers at different angles.

And the 382 comes in two different configurations, FWB (F'ing Windsheild Boat as we used to tease t500hps) and Poker Run/Race version with the Fairing.

I know that all the variables play into it... but a basic mesurement is still good to know. I will not pput 14 foot door haha thats HUGE. 14 foot ceilings are in the plans. that way i can pull motors if need be.

My 382 fits in a 10' tall door nicely. I wanted a 12' tall door but the door people told me that would be a commercial door and big $$. I also wanted it to match the rest of the garage doors.
Just be shure you build it deep enough. I built the garage 45' deep for a 303 now the 382 just fits in it with little room to spare (no room for extension boxes).
