Dave, Formula is still using those crappy plastic step plates. In the fully optioned 353 in the water, they stood out like zits on a Playmate's butt. Do us all a favor, call Watson Rittenhouse at (609) 847-5109 and talk to him. Tell him that I said to call about the plates. He's a consultant for Formula, but might be able to get you in the door there. He is expecting your call.
It's really funny that you mentioned the "crappy plastic step plates" and how out-of-place that they look on that boat... I was talking to Kyle Porter, (a third generation Porter) at the Formula in-water exhibit on Friday, and I brought up the fact that a lot of our OSO FasTech brethren are replacing those cheesy steps with the upgraded ones that Dave had commissioned for us. I told him about the Formula step-plate thread on OSO and he said that he was going to look into it... Other than the step-plates, (which we all know are correctable) it sure is one beautiful boat! http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...w/DSC00066.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...w/DSC00067.jpg http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...w/DSC00068.jpg |
Thanks alot guys! I'll get in touch with Watson this week and maybe Kyle. I got the chance to meet Scott Porter inside, but I never brought it up! That is a HOT 353! If I were ever buying another one, it would be the Silver (what do you think Chuck?).
