Trailer help
I just bought i 2001 292 fastech and it came with a triple axle 01 load rite trailer! I'm having my guy go over the trailer that currently has surge 2 axles, he gave me a price for triple axle surge set up for 1600 and a triple axle electric set up for 1200 which im leaning toward being that my truck has the set up? Also is crossing my mind to just get it by for the year and buy a new trailer next year?? Any help would be appreciated!

Yep. Leaving tomorrow to pick it up! I am beyond pumped!! |
My triple axle load right has electric/hydraulic brakes on two axles. I think all three axles would be overkill.

Is this a bunk trailer or is it made for the stepped bottom? If it is a bunk trailer it will mess up the gelcoat on the steps in no time. Jeff Wurl

WAIT......are we talking electric or electric over hydraulic???? I always thought submerging electric brakes was a no/no and that boat trailers required electric/hydraulic (which cost more than electric only)
Note: I've never had electric only brakes so I'm not sure I'm right on this. |
fixx
electric brakes will work fine even under water..they are sealed units and if the water were not going to work because of the water they would not work in the rain either..had less issues with electric then hyd brakes..1200 sounds high,,you can srill use your drums if they are flat inside, for brakes and druns its only 200 per axle..should only take about 4 hrs to install then and wire them to the plug..
