WOW!!! I don't have words...don't forget to put some big time guilt out there on the culprit for loss of use.

This really blows!! Hang tough...it will work out.

Don't forget about engine/drive alignment and coupler damage.

Loss of use will be dealt with if my boat is not wet in two weeks from time of repair estimate. Boat is to be reviewed by mechanic Monday.

Seriously...you may have also a "diminished value" claim.

I had an idiot in a marina hit my Sea Ray 40' Express Cruiser and do $20,000 in damage. I collected an additional $20,000 in diminished value because the damage repair became part of the boats history and therefore diminished it's value.

Have a marine surveyor out of Decatur or Huntsville look at it as well. Don't get screwed on this deal.

WOW, that is horrific! Sounds more like slammed than backed into the boat to damage the mentioned items.

Hope all works out for the best of the bird.

My next trailer, and maybe I'll add it to this one, will have a drive guard. This kind of stuff totally nerves me up.

Everytime I trailer somewhere, I'm acutely aware of the amount of money hanging off the back end just waiting to be rear-ended! Is there an after market add-on for a trailer guard that can be bolted on? Can't be too complicated...sorry about your luck Loose.

I like the idea...make it out of aluminum channel and have some quick release pins for the ramp.

There's a guy on eBay that makes drive guard bolt on kits. I will try and find him and post up a link if anybody is interested.

I just feel useless. I am a very hands on person, but since I am not a "Marine Mechanic" by trade I cannot touch squat. Monday is lets get dirty day for the mechanic, tuesday adjuster comes down to give his two cents, then my ins co submits report to their ins co, and then we may get to argue, or maybe not(hopefully). This may be the first weekend I wish away.

I am very glad that it is two seperate ins companies.
