looking to update my 242 ls
 

hello all im looking update the appearence on my 242 what im looking to do is change the black rub rail to a white one and change the cuddy hatchs to white as well . i was thinking about scuffing and painting the hatchs so my questions are has anyone on here done this before ? where do I get the materials i would need ? , anything to look out out for before i get into it ?, dos and donts ? thanks in advance

Did those exact upgrades to my 1988 242
Rustoleum semi-gloss white for the hatch frames
White vinyl over the windows
Taco white rub rail was a great upgrade

If I did it again I would take the windows out and paint the complete frame.

Would you happen to recall the specifics on which rub rail you used?

Being a '92, my hatches are already white so unfortunately I can't help on that one.

I had a horrible time finding it to do my 311 last year, ended up having to get it from West Marine. It's in the catalog again this year again. The quality wasn't as good as the product direct from Taco. If you can find a Taco dealer maybe they can still get it direct?
