292 with 6.2's how fast? has factory hydraulic steering also

69-70 most of the time. 71-72 under perfect conditions, temp, light fuel, tail wind, six inch chop. They go to 65 pretty quick, its that other 5 MPH that it needs to wind out for. If you are buying it right its not a bad boat, just depends on what you want to do with it.


I did see 80 once but that was because I forgot to turn the GPS off for the ride home

LoL, we just need a little more then what we r getting from our 271, a little more length and 10mph and I think we would both be happy,

My 89 292 w stock 454 mags runs 75 on the speedo. Never had gps on it.

I am talking newer 292 with the 6.2, but that is good to know as also up for consideration is an older 292, but I think your speedo is off bye about 7

I'm not an expert but, from what I know, I'd rather have the 6.2's from the standpoint of forged steel stroker crank and cam and increased torque. Again, just my non expert opinion.

My 350 powered 292 has seen 69 solid with occasional 71 bumps. But that was a 60 degree day in november. With one motor fing up I can still turn 62.
