Sony Wired Remotes
 

I am having issues with my wired marine remotes. I have 2 of them on my boat. They worked fine at the end of last year, out of the blue they stopped working, no power. I got a new sony head unit, I got them to light up but no controls are working. I have one remote that is outdated and will not work with the newer head units. I am going to start by getting a new remote to see if there is a comunication issue. Can anyone help me with what or where to start to fix this issue.

First problem... Sony equipment.

I suspect that you just need newer remotes, however, I highly suggest changing out to a brand better suited for the marine enviornment.

I personally do all Clarion and JL Audio in ALL my boat installs.

They die, especially the Sony units. It just happens.
