Anyone remove their cabin refrigerator in a 400 ss?

My fridge stopped working. I haven't tried yet but it looks like I will have to remove the cabin door to get the fridge out of the cabin. Anyone delt with this. I don't see how you would remove the cabin door.

Sounds like a pita, did it take a crap?

Yes decided to stop working today. It looks like a big pita.

What if you take the door off the fridge?

It looks like I will have to take the door off the fridge, the door off the cabin and also disassemble the back of the fridge to get it out. Big pain but I can do that if I have to. If I do then I guess I'd have to buy a new one and take it apart to get it back through the door. Surely there is a better way. I am thinking about calling a mobile refrigerator repair service and see if they can fix it. But the fridge is a 2002 so it's probably not worth fixing.
Maybe I'll just buy a bigger ice chest.

I would do that. Get it fixed! There really aren't many parts to replace on a fridge......and a 2002 is not that old!

I took mine out and threw it in the trash......when my wife left a Shrimp Ceaser salad in it for two months. We use a ice chest, way less hassle. Be careful when disassembling. Its ammonia, if you create a leak while you are in the cabin you may not get out soon enough, nasty air....

Thanks fossil. Say did you have to remove the cabin door to get the fridge out?

fossil fuel 05-20-2012 08:09 AM

The trim around the door of the 382 and the door off the fridge.

I've removed mine several times... gotta take the wood trim off first, then the doors, then the screws..

then it just slides out.

No big deal.
