Formula swim ladders
Don't know if this has ever been discussed before but has anyone been having trouble with their stainless steel swim ladders, I've had two Formula's a 97 312 fastech and the 353 that I've got now, the 312 ladder was broke when I bought it and the one on my 353 broke the third year I had it.
Now I only weigh 200lbs, so it's not like I'm 500 lbs, but both of them broke at the swivel, where they bend so they can go back into the swim platform, I replaced the one and it was over $1K bucks, that's crazy. Anybody have any ideas where to get these ladders and how to get them to stop breaking. |
Looking for some plastic bushings to place into swivel points myself. I asked in a prior post about who manufacturers this ladder but know one seems to know. Is this the same as yours?
|
No, mine folds up into the swim platform like this, they always break at the swivel where it folds.
I thought I had a pic of the ladder itself but I can't find one and my boat is at the shop getting the top ends re-worked so I can't go take a pic of it. |
The ladders are custom-made by Hi-Tec Stainless in Fennville, MI. Bushings can be purchased through Formula: 7089 BUSHING FLANGE WHITE SWIM LADDER (#6145) $1.77 ea. Email [email protected] if you would like a picture of the bushing.

The fix I did was attach a THIN piece of SS pipe cut in half where the ladder rest on the rubrail. I have some small pieces made up if you need them. I will be down @LOTO FOR 9 days starting tomorrow let me know ASAP if you need them. |

I ordered one from Bald Knob Formula where you got yours and they sold me my new one for $125 bucks cheaper than the Formula dealer here at LOTO would, don't get it, I owe you a beer. Thanks, BOZ |
