Never been there...look forward to it some day....so I can't speak to it's roughness. Seems a bit odd though with a depth of 60+ feet and covering as much area as it does that it would be that rough.

LOTO wash machine slop. :evilb:

LOTO = washing machine on agitate cycle . .

You need to keep the attitude of the boat as level as you can. If you drive the bow down, too much tab or negative trim, you stuff the bow.

If you trim to positive and the bow rides to high you ramp off the waves.

The key is to fly level with enough speed to keep you on top. Get good on the sticks too.... The only problem is every once in awhile the bottom falls out....when that happens ouch...

I love the main channel at noon on a Saturday or Holiday weekend :evilb:

It is always exciting when the water suddenly disappears out from underneath you! :eekdrop:

OK...being a 4 time Formula owner and having taken all 4 of those boats into some very rough "OPEN OCEAN" conditions...I'm have a little trouble understanding a 312 Formula FasTech experiencing "rough" conditions on an inland lake. Considering that the LOTO is about 90 miles long, has an average depth of 60~80 feet and has no significant depth fluctuation...I wonder...how rough could it be? Are we talking 3'~5'...or as much as 4'~6'?

Enjoy this 312 video!!

Find a comfortable trim and speed...drop the bolsters...throttle up and get on top of that slop and let the hull do the rest:evilb:

LOTO on Saturday mid morning to Evening is likely one of the roughest places you will find other than a hurricane. (not all the lake, just basically the 4mm - 25mm The cliffs and rock walls and the mix of cruiser wakes makes for wave action that is completely unpredictable and going every direction. in most cases they are not that big, maybe 4-5 ft but are hard as a rock and there is no real way to land smooth untill you hit the next one.

I always ran tabs down (about 3/4) and then bring the drive up just a bit. It seemed to like that as it's sweet spot. But every boat is different, you will just need to play with it untill you find it. Also, I found running between 40mph and 55mph was also a smoother ride, It began to clear some of the "speed bumps" and just cut through the larger wakes.
