Was wondering on your opnions of value (retail price) on my 292? Its a 06 with 383 carbed motors making about 425hp, hydralic steering, custom JL stereo, Eagle tri axel trailer, Bought boat new and is very well taken care of. Perfect conditions 83mph GPS! 80 most days. 80 to 90k??

Damn thats badd azz But if thats the number I think you will have a hard time, you will need to find the "right buyer" most will want something untouched

What happened to the original power?? Freeze??
That would have been electronic fuel injection of some type. Unless there is some big name work and parts behind those motors, not Merc black magic, the carbs are a down grade from Formula production.

The boat looks great !!!

Should you get what you want, yes. Could any one even come close to buying new for that price, no. Will you get it, probably not, its weird as the 292's are over 200k new.

Did you tint the windows from the outside or the inside?

Why would anyone pay over 200K for a 29' boat???????? I can't believe Formula has sold too many of those! :party-smiley-004:

I agree probably not selling to many 292's at this point, I think there doing to the 292 what they did with the 271 price them into extinction, I hope not, I know of several 292's 02-04 that have sold for high 30's in the last six months, every 292 listed currently has been for a year or more with the exception of pier 57's 292

Thats a great looking boat Rvtransport. I haven't seen any 292's in the 30's, but with 350s I see 40k, 6.2's 45k and anything bigger 50+. These seems to take quite a whack in depreciation which I dont understand. The first ones sold for around 92k with 350's. Ten years later the boat is in the 40's?!?! Formula is supposed to be known for quality and resale value...what happened with the 292 with a 60% depreciation?

Probably not what you want to hear but I'd guess 5 - 10k less than whatever a stock 6.2 powered 292 would sell for. The aftermarket power is going to hurt you. Of course you might get lucky and find the perfect buyer but even then 90 won't happen.

I would be the type of buyer for this boat. I think if you want this boat gone high 60's- low 70's and a little more than comparable 6.2 boats. Now I get the work that went into this boat to get it where it is and it is FINALLY a well powered 292 that isn't outrageous (thinking of some of the 2002-2004 scorpion boats that people have listed in the mid 80's to 90's). You can still get a loan for these so that is working in your favor, has all the right options and looks great. If you can hold out it is a great looking piece. You might be sitting on it for a while but there are those of us that hold higher hp 292's with a LOT of value. BTW great looking/optioned boat

Thanks Guy's! Yes I am barried in my 292 and was dreaming of going a little bigger but can not except that kinda lose yet. Expensive date the windshield is tinted on inside. It was a real ***** had to use a little black vinyl in bottem edges but turned out great. The motors never frooze I just wanted more and it was the best thing I ever did. Used the stock merc 377 bottem end, added forged pistons, arp bolts, comp cam, etec cylinder heads, alum ex manifolds and runs fast and reliable! I can plane boat at half thottle with boat load of people with 30 props! 292 hull responds very well with extra power. Never chines or does something supid like some other boats I'v ran.
