What all has broke on your bird this year?
1. fresh water pump. 150.00
2. IAC Valve. 75.00 3. Fuel pump 212.00 4. Fuel pressure regulator 92.00 5. Fuel sender ????.?? 6. New Gaffrig Tach. Warranty 7. Drivers bolster actuator ???.?? 8. 2 Trim switches. ??.?? Do my own labor thank God, or this would have been a $$ start of the year. |
saw this thread and had to respond...not a formula, a sea ray (sorry for junking up a good section) in the last 12 months (since i bought it last spring)
2001 Sea Ray 6.2mpi bravo 1 dealer replaced: tps sensor (??) and new trim pump (650) I replaced: right after 3 month warranty: exhaust manifolds (leaking) to stainless: 2100 then rebuilt heads (lost compression in #7): DIY including gaskets, new head bolts etc, 750 2 starters: 150$ (2nd was free) thought it was just bad luck but then realized water in a cylinder is hard to compress see above 1 alternator: which actually **** the bed quicker than the 1st new starter, (150$), reinstalled old one after it was cleaned up Distributor cap, plugs: ??? and just last week Coil: 180$ which gave out mid cruise wires: 180$ which i learned real quick were bad when i turned the distributor. Just ordered: merc scan tool (420$) to adjust timing (thunderbolt ignition) after dealer dropped the ball. Oh, and bought 1 4 blade aluminum (200) after curling the 3 blade stainless and put on a skeg guard (100) (and removig a nice chunk of skeg) after clipping a rock at low tide my first time out. Yup, needless to say i haven't given up yet.. but a new engine package could be coming this winter.:lolhit: |
30 hours of tach time so far this season... Broke the glovebox latch last week :angry-smiley-038: So far it's been a good year!

oh yeah 29 hrs tach time on me.
Glad its not just me....I have other suckers to ***** with LOL. |
Snapped starboard crank ... upgraded to callies
Upgraded to roller cams while starboard motor was out All four heads were cracked ... upgraded to aluminum This year = Expensive Past five years = just water pumps and oil changes... |
about 22 hours since mem day, o ring on fuel seperater, scag broke off, (prev owner repair or non repair) 1 oil change, second coming up, still need to do the drives, full tune ups coming in the next cpl weeks, (I'm not doing it!! LOL) int is starting to crack with regular useage as I expected, winter project hoping it will look respectable for a cpl more months, hoping nothing else brakes, Over 1200 in the whole in fuel, uhg this damn boating is expensive who's friggin idea was it to go bigger:angry-smiley-038::angry-smiley-038:

New impeller, thermostat and still overheating, till I pulled all the hoses found a clog from the plastic hose in the transom free.
Ctriverguy, you need a better mechanic I`ll hook you up with one:evilb: see you this weekend? |
This year a cracked transom assembly and currently being replaced along with all steering components. The sloppy steering is what started my woes.

About 5 hours and nothing yet. Of course nearly everything is new! :D :D One last piece to my puzzle though is installing the new TV.
