Need 242 side "wing" glass

Unfortunately this past weekend my '84 242LS port side wing glass portion of the windshield got caught by wind towing down the highway and got torn off. Looking for a replacement, otherwise hopefully I can have one made.

Send me your e mail...I will send you a pdf of the drawing file for the glass that fits my 255.

Meanwhile ...here is a jpg scan of the drawing. See if you can see the dimensions well enough to measure.

This is the original Water Bonnet drawing...Water Bonnet in Orlando was the OEM supplier for Formula until they went out of business due to "Obama-ism" 2 years ago.

I have been told that all of the following Formula boats use the same glass and frames: 233 Interceptor, 242 LS, 255 Liberator, 272 LS and 302 LS. This applies to "Flat Glass" models from 1976 through 1986.

I think they are the same but you need to verify. I had some made and you can buy one of mine or have one made yourself...but check the dimensions first.

The 242LS and 272LS have different glass. I had a 242LS that I picked up as a parts boat and nothing matched my 272. Give these guys a call. http://www.marineglassspecialties.com/ They are suppose to have all the templates.

Thanks guys...... it looks like I'll also need the metal piece that acted as the hinge to interlock into the frame as well. What a pain!

This is the same guy that sent me the drawing for my 255 glass and told me he thought they were the same. Nice guy but VERY hard to get follow up from. I have been trying to get rubber and plastic parts from him since February and can't get any movement...but I will keep trying.

Meanwhile...compare the measurements to this and see if it's a match.

The drawing must be in centimeters?

Nope...inches. you don't realize how big it is until you put a tape to it. I had 4: made for mine and they fit perfectly.

My window is about 9 inches at the top and 11 at the bottom. I'm having the glass made using the stbd side as the sample, looking for the metal piece that is glued to it as the hinge where it hooks into the window frame. A little harder than finding parts for cars :)
