Trim tab limit adjustment on 353?

Anyone know how to adjust the limit on the K-plane system used on the 1999 353 to achieve maximum full up position? My tabs are only going to level with the hull but the piston rods have a few inches left, half of which is unpainted. This leads me to believe they should go higher. I'm wondering if running these parallel with the hull vs. negative could be adding to the stern lift we are experiencing when running at speed. Thanks.

Formula intentionally limits the "up" travel in tabs to eliminate wasted motion. If you want to play with the limit, you'll have to remove the lower end caps from the pistons with a spanner (or "pin") wrench and remove the piston assembly. You'll likely find some sort of spacer bolted to the top of the piston. Remove (or machine down) the spacer and re-assemble. You'll have to bleed the air out of the system afterwards.

Thanks that does not sound like something I want to modify. We still are getting way too much stern lift with the stock props which dies not seem to be correct. So k-planes on everyones 353's only go as high as level with the hull?
