419 Fas Tech

In my search for a 330 SS I have come across the 419 SR1s and 419 Fas Tech. All of them are triple drives, is this normal for these boats and what speeds can they get up to?

All 419's are triple engines. Jeff Wurl

Jeff thanks for the info.

How fast do these run and are they a real popular boat?

I had the last non step 419 Formula built. Took delivery in Dec 1996 and had it until 2002. It ran low 70's with 500's and bravo drives if I remember correctly. Not a rocket but a good cruising, solid boat. I liked it and it served me well. The Fas Tech should run a few MPH faster I would think.

Very nice boat but you might want to look at insurance first before you go triples. My provider that I 've had everything I own covered with since college (30 years) would not insure a triple engine boat, so I went with the 382 when I moved up from my 311.

Always thought a 419 Fastech with 1000 hp/side on #6 drives would be the cat's behind in a modern offshore boat.

RedDog I am not looking at getting one just came across a few and they all had triples. Was not sure if that was stock for the 419 or not is all.

Thank you all for the info, I am still learning about Formulas as I research a good boat for the family.

I have a 97 419 Fastec with Triple 525 SC's. Boat ran 83 mph in winter. Bravo 1 drives, no standoff boxes. Boat is currently for sale with the engines in pieces, had a leaking CMI header (I hate those things, but they sure do shine). Completely restored cabin and cockpit, updated dash, etc. It would be a great candidate for twin 1000's and #6's. Currently have it insured with State Farm for about $900.00 a year. Was not a problem insuring once Formula sent me a letter that the boat was manufactured with triples, SF thought the engines were not stock, so they were originally reluctant to insure. I've owned a 292 sri, 357 sri kamma and this 419 is the best Formula offshore boat IMHO. Anyone interested in a project, I have it listed on Craig's list and Boat Trader.com
