Has to be pretty tired and everything needs to be redone.

He's giving it away so the assumption would be what PhantomChaos suggested.

If its in good shape then it may be a great deal... I like the 38 fastechs alot but dont know to much about them. A guy at the boatyard just started keeping his there, its got 540's w/600 hp and arneson's. Twin step as well, shes a beaut clark!

sonickevin95 10-19-2012 04:14 PM

There is a 2001 that was just posted on the oso classifieds, its stunning. 500 efi's, ac/heat, gen, mitcher t paint, mcloud interior. Not sure how the 38 fastech with 500's run??

There is another one on the east coast for 42,900, funky graphics but seems cheap for the price, I believe it was on www.powerboatlistings.com.

jeff32 10-19-2012 06:43 PM

IMO, he's asking a price to sell, not just to have a boat for sale... I looked and still look at 38 footer between 1999 and 2001. all 2000 listed at let's say 75, just dont sell, they are still advertised and many for over a year or 2 !

cabin just not high enough for me...

Completely agree, you have to have your boat priced just right to sell at this point in time.

My opinion is that your boat is absolutely amazing, just priced a touch to high. You have to look at other boats and see what the ones that actually sold went for. The market just isnt bringing six figures for these boats. A friend of mine is trying to sell a 2004 38 sonic with 525 efi's and every option you can dream of and its bin for sale for two whole years because hes asking waaaaaaay to much and he got offended when I let him know why it is still for sale!

Seems priced pretty nicely! It's all about condition and what has been redone. With nearly 300 hours on the engines......you have about 100-200 more hours before a total rebuild, plus the other possible issues......deck/hull separation to be fixed, CMI headers leaking....

I believe he asked for opinions? This was my opinion. If he asked for opinions of other opinions then your was great. That boat is absolutely gorgous, only time will tell if its priced nicely, If it sells then its priced nicely to someone. I wish him and anyone else trying to sell there boat much luck.

sonickevin95 10-20-2012 04:16 PM

My other opinion is that I would love to own that boat. Its just a little out of my price range. Seems to be perfect power for that boat as well.

Nort,
Thanks for the feedback.New Headers in May 2012,Deck joint is solid as a rock. I check it all the time, since your thread on the subject. Boat shows perfect. Anyone interested can PM me. The price will have a "little" wiggle room.200 hours under 1999 rpm's.

There is a little discrepancy in you pricing....your ad says 115k, but you asked for opinion here at 105k.
What is the price?
Thanks,
Mike

BONDO10 10-21-2012 01:21 PM

Price is 105k . Add needs to be updated.

Sorry to the original poster for the hi-jack.

sonickevin95 10-21-2012 03:55 PM

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o38227-en.html, BONDO...... this is the boat im referring to, the boat is top notch, turn key and im 6' and can stand in the cabin. These boats just are not pulling 6 digits, and like I said I think your boat is amazing..... but my opinion does not change the market.
