I just want to get some input on how i can get my formula 1989 272 s1 to get up into the 90s i have 2 factory 500hp with bravo drives iam putting new gimbles and external steering this spring let me know how this can be done if possible with this hull thanks

I assume your running high 70's and if propped right low 80's on a good day. 10 more mph is going to take 150/200hp per side additional which will start killing drives. If I recall correct, that hull has a hook which could make the HP needed even more.
I had a 382 running 98 and have a suggestion. If you want a 90mph boat, go buy a boat that already goes that fast. It will be cheaper in the long run!!! |
I might try to sell this boat what do u think that my 272 is worth in great condition with 500hp motors and clean trailer I mean clean for a boat never been in salt water?

there was a guy here touching 98 with a 272 a while back search threw the formula forum, as far as yours if you get someone to appreciate the motors and the rest is clean you might get around 20-22k if you get the right buyer, but 272's that sell lately are in the 14-19k range anything higher seems to sit and anything lower is usually gobbled up quick as lil red's was
