My formula has it would I need to repaint the sides if I pull bottom paint off??

I agree with you but if you leave it in with no bottom paint the water does penetrate the gel coat and fiberglass. Other then the looks of it if you leave your boat in you should bottom paint. boat will be faster with the bottom paint over the course of the year, won't yellow like it does with out it......

I spend my time at the beach srubbing the side of my boats when I am in the water to get all the crap off the side and bottom.
