New Steering Wheel

What did others use for a new steering wheel? We ordered a new Isotta wheel and looking forward to it. The old one got dirty so easily for some reason.:lolhit::bunnydance::bunnydance::bunnydance :

Went with an isotta aria genuine black leather and chrome to match a new black carbon fiber dash being built right now. Hope to have pics up soon after everything is reassembled.

What does the old one look like? Would you sell it

Such beautiful steering wheels!! I was thinking of going with the silver and chrome Aria but after seeing the black leather/chrome one I fell in love with. Plus I like the feel of the leather as opposed to the plastic of the colored Aria's. Post some pics of the new wheel when you get it put on.

Isotta wheels are HOT...I really like the Carlotta, but ended up getting a Forever Sharp wheel...$130 vs $550...

I agree the Carlotta looks amazing!! But just the wheel was gonna cost almost what my new carbon fiber dash panels are going to run. Tracked down the Aria brand new for $290.00 after looking around for a few months.

The Carlotta is on a bunch of yachts an only a few performance boats. I think it is more of a yacht wheel so I put it on the Sunseeker only to notice later that it seems to be a standard wheel with them now! Pic of the wheel from a year ago.

I went with Isotta as well. Love it, well worth the money.

I went with the Issotta Carlotta and Billet Livorsi shifters. Added red bezels on everything, to tie it in.

looseconnection 02-06-2013 12:23 PM

How much you want for it?

Wheel

I went with this purple Isotta Carlotta that I purchased from Bill @ Diamond Performance a couple of years ago and love it. It tied in nicely with the purple bezels on my gauges. I noticed that all the Cigarettes also had them in various colors at the Miami Boat Show last year.

I had trouble with the chrome flaking off of the Isotta. I replaced mine with this one, "Rapids" from Flaming River. It's powdercoated instead of plated. Isotta sells it as the "Posiedon", although that might be bad karma. I tell everyone that the "FR" (Flaming River) logo in the center stands for "Formula Rules"...

That's a pretty sweet looking wheel. Would love to see how it looks on the boat.
Anyone else with isotta wheels have trouble with the chrome flaking off?

I've used mine for two seasons now and it still looks brand new. I don't boat in salt water, so I don't know if that would be an issue. Maybe a salty could chime in and be a better gauge of durability...

The Isotta Carlotta looks to me to be an extremely high quality plating job with a noticeable depth to the chrome plating.

I put Nu Finish polish on it once a year to polish & protect.

They make all kinds of wheels.....but the Isotta Carlota is not plated. It is polished stainless steel. No peeling there! It weights quite a bit. :D :D Powder coat will peal though if nicked.

My stock formula wheel has the shiny stuff peeling from the round thingie in the middle. Replaced it once getting ready to do again.

Yours was probably fancier than mine Dave! Here is mine.....what is it a Dino or Deno wheel? Looks anodized aluminum to me.

Got one of the Isotta Carlotta Wheels sent out to Australia

WOW ! how heavy are they
pictures do them no justice

Fitted it up and it is just awesome, feels great looks slick

snowrunner 07-26-2014 07:17 AM

I've added the Carlotta to my 2000 280ss. It's on most every high end boat no adays!

Just installed a Nardi Mahogany wheel on the 206LS, it is 330mm, about the same diameter as the Formula wheel.

Had to enlarge the center of the adapter hub so the Formula center cap would fit.
