Bilge pump hose blew off on 312 WTF!

Hose blew off my bilge pump on my 312 under stbd engine. Now what?when your 6-6" an 255 there is no f-ing way you can fit or hang down there to put hose back on and new hose clamp. 3 hrs of cussing and ripped up arms and sore chest.. Thanks Formula... Anyone got the number for rent a midget?:eekdrop::eekdrop:

Feel you pain man. I completely redid mine last winter.

My bilge pump is on a bracket secured with a wing nut. Reach down, spin it off, lift up pump.

Since then I made it even easier if need be, I remove four bolts and the back of my seat pulls off. I can lay on my chest on the rear bench and put both hands in the bilge, very easy.

Look here for ideas: page 22, post 214.

OH, and my mechanic at work is pretty short, so that helps also! Well, me anyways, not so much you... :angry-smiley-038:

I had to replace the bildge pump in my 252, and it was directly under the 454 mag.

talk about hard, i coul dnot even poke it with a screw driver. BUT luckly i have a TINY boating frined.

5 foot tall, 120 lbs, he slid down upside down, and did the job. he works for Natty light too.

I send my 100lb daughter in for the hard to reach cleaning and repairs.

UPDATE,, Bought new pump broke the side clip off on RULE base.. Had to install all new so I moved it forward about 14" Still to far for me to reach unstalling new pump on new base I mounted with extra long screw driver and more crushed chest.

BUT I CAME UP WITH NEW TOOL boys and girls.. Pair of walmart Steak Tongs for $2.70. Problem was grabbing f-ing round pump. Wrapped claws with Elec. tape sticky side out.. Worked like a champ.. DID THE WIN DANCE after only 6 hrs...:lolhit:
