Water under step (new info)

Boat was dry when I took cover off, started getting her ready flushed out water tank by putting a few gallons in at a time and letting sink and sprayer run to get antifreeze out. Looked under step and I have water that has a pink tint. I don't think its water tank as it would have leaked during the winter. Wondering if its the sink drain, will have to follow drain hose next weekend will let everyone know if I find anything.

Can you lift your step w/o taking right seat cushion off

I'm talking about the flip up step right as you exit the cabin.

There should be a drain from that compartment to the bilge. That opening should have a removable brass/rubber plug which should be left in. The sink drains to the bilge, but water comes back up through the drain. You will need to hand pump the compartment (under the step) dry.

I am too. I cannot flip mine up unless I take the seat cushion off.

My 353 sink drains to the bilge which I think is stupid. My old 311 drained out the side of the boat. My guess is the sink drained to the bilge then back up the drain that goes from the step to the bilge. Mine did the same thing when it was up on the trailer.

It might be a newer regulation to not allow gray water into drinking water lakes or harbors? No idea for sure but seems possible.

Where do they think the bilge water goes?
