electric engine hatch issue

left lights on in boat and batteries died. I was trying to figure out how im going to run power through the cigarette lighter and on a whim tried opening the hatch. it opended right up manually and i charged the batteries. however now the hatch is making just a clicking noise and not powering up or down? is there a pin or something that maybe popped out or something from the ride the night before(it was very choppy) or maybe a soledoid etc? again i know nothing about these so a wiring diagram or any info would be helpful.

How many times have you opened and closed them after charging the batteries? Maybe they just need to be opened and closed a few times to get the fluid back like it's supposed to be?

Ive opened and closed a few times(did an oil change yesterday). But it wasnt working right away after i got the batteries charged up again.

My 89 242LS has done this a couple times. It would just "click" towards the end of 2012 season and i couldn't figure it out, so it was on my spring check list. Came back in the spring and my wife hit the toggle and it went up!!?? Been working ever since... It also does it If it sits for a while and the batteries get low.

When I had a problem with mine it would go down and get stuck and had a hard time coming back up. so I took it apart and greased it up and that didn`t work. So I pulled it apart again and noticed it was sticking to the bottom so I epoxied a small sleeve to the bottom and worked fine. Just make sure both batteries are fully charged.
