Now that`s a clean little 242.
Wow! That is super clean. Only a couple issues the camera picked up. Starboard side exhaust burned the transom and the gunwale vinyl under the grab bars needs replacing. Why the 50 mph max listed speed?
looks like exhaust burns on both sides? beautiful boat though.. looks 10 years newer if not more..
Bristol condition!!
It sold already!
And for thpse out there that say 15k is to much for a 88/90 boat there's your sign!!!! lesson learned a well kept Formula will always sell!
and it doesn't have bolsters!!!! LOL
love the 242's spent many many many hours in one with a 502 and hawk when driving for merc. Solid boats tough too we abused the crap outa that thing and it never missed a beat.

With a perfect day half or less fuel with one or two ppl and good temp you touch 70 on GPS
but like I said that's with a Hawk not a bravo
Thats cool! Did it plane ok?
eehhh depends on your definition of ok I definitely wouldn't try to pull a skier with it lol but it wasn't horrible. I would say not quite twice as long to on plane maybe half again longer than usual. but it would run damn good. I think we actually saw over 70 one time but I wasn't present for that so I don't believe it till I see it. but it was a sold and stable old boat. might try to track one down after I get most my fountain paid for lol.

Boat looked liked it was just from the showroom. Had new batteries, custom covers, trailer, etc. To some that price is high, but we were on lake all summer, I didn't have to spend 3 seasons repairing rotted wood and rebuilding engines. |
theyre tough as nails I will give em that

I paid $12,000 for 1990 F206LS with 175 hours on it. One owner, stored in heated and air conditioned basement its entire life.

Sounds like we needs some pics, I paid full monty for my 303 and don't regret any of it
This was when we just got it home, don't think we even washed it yet. It came with a full cover that went from the bow eye to the outdrive, and chine to chine, super heavy, the cover weighs about 50 pounds. pics aren't the greatest, took them with a galaxy tab. The interior vinyl is original and still tight, no mods ever to the boat, not even a compass, as fresh and clean as day one! The PO did upgrade the cockpit fire extinguisher to a rechargeable one and I had to do a some delayed maintenance items like a fuel pump, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, impeller, and bellows. Nothing major and I do all my own work so it wasn't too expensive. There was an exhaust leak between the platform and transom but when I pulled the platform all the gaskets were still good. Found that the interior seam wasn't sealed and the exhaust was coming out from the back of the swim platform so I smeared about 5 tubes of 3M 5200 in there, seems to have done the trick as the back stayed clean all summer. Was only leaking on the starboard side. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps0829c577.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps971db929.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps41e722d0.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps0e5ef3a6.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...psc8218922.jpg |

Also depends on what you consider reasonable. Some people wouldn't pay what I paid but I thought it was a bargain. What can you buy new for 12k, a waverunner? and I didn't want some rotted, worn out project at any price.

When I was in my early 20's a local marina had a 206ls in palm beach colors, I used drive out there a few times per week to sit in the boat and dream, couldn't afford it then. Needless to say the first time I hit the water it was like living that dream. |
Sweet, love the yellow, dont see that combo often,

I had a 1989 206 LS and absolutely loved it.... She could take a beating and arguably the best ride on any boat 20ft and under... Unfortunately, Hurricane Irene swept her away.... Now, I am fully enjoying my 242ss with eyes on a 311 in the near future!
Stupid hurricane.
Yes, for a 20 footer the ride is awesome. When I take people out who own bigger boats they are shocked at how quiet and smooth the ride is. |
