Raising the X-Dimension - 242LS

Hey folks. My apologies if this has been posted before. I haven't had time to research.

My '89 242 LS is going under the knife to have the transom and engine stringers redone here in a few weeks. My question.... has anyone raised the x-dimension on the 242LS? Experiences? Worth it?

I'm just running the stock 454 Mag for now (with upgrades exhaust), but planning for something 502 or bigger for next season.

Give your opinions please!

Thanks,
Tom

I am no expert but would it be easier to buy a -1 lower for your bravo. Also thinking, if you do raise it up would it hit the platform?

What is your current prop shaft depth?

The silent thunder is going away... I don't like the weight over the stern. It's very heavy even without the water in it. I should have room.

In terms of propshaft depth.. I'm not sure. It's whatever is factory to a Formula. I may just leave it alone, but being that the transom is being redone, now would be the time. Just looking for some extra speed is all.
