In The Market For a 303
Long time boater (Cigarette, American Offshore, P&D. Eliminator) been sitting on the sidelines since 2009 and thinking about hitting the water again. It seems like the 303 is the best compromise of value, performance, towing etc. so I'm looking for a clean one with a trailer. I missed the one in MN for 21K by 2 hours, . There seems to be about 10 others out there in various conditions and prices, none of which have quite done it for me. I guess my thought process is a bit tainted after almost getting a really nice one for 21K. Would prefer the later ones without the cloth cabin interior although anything in the right condition or right price could work. Kinda like the 95 and up dash. Anyways, got cash and ready to move on the right deal so if anyone knows of gem hiding somewhere please shoot me a message. Any advice from current or previous owners would be great. Home is New Orleans but not afraid to travel for the right deal. Thanks!

Thanks 88, was hopping you'd respond as you seem to be on top of the 303 world. 502's would be great but I really have no hopes of finding one of those, just not enough produced although I'd be willing to pay for the upgrade. As far as I can tell the differences in years are as follows, correct me if I'm wrong:
92-93, essentially the same 94 switch from cloth to vinyl cabin upholstery, carbs to EFI 95 new dash and passenger console 96-97 same as 95 Did I miss anything, any other pros / cons between years? |
I agree with 88. If you find one in the right condition you will probaby love the 303. I love mine, that's for sure. I also tow locally with a 1/2 ton Dodge with a hemi. It's fine for around town but I would not do a long trip with it. The boat itself rides great and handles larger chop better than other boats I have been on in the same size range. It's obviously not the fastest hull around but I never have to worry about whatever my lake throws at me. With my 454 Mags and 25P Mirage props I consistantly run 69.XXXX on GPS. One of these days I'll find that magic combination of conditions and knock off that 70 on GPS :lolhit:

I have a 336 Fresh 600 HP 515s 1993/2011. Just built engines last winter, haven't put them in the boat yet. Wife has Spinal Stenosis that is bothering her too much for boating. Too many upgrades to list. Interested? email me and I'll send pictures.

Was good talking to you today Jason. Thanks for the kind words. If I run across a good 303 I'll give you a shout.

ya that Jake is a good guy!!
One thing I can say is that the pass area on the 95/96's is smaller then mine, the curve they put in the dash took up some room, this was after me and a buddy had about 5 beers and went back n forth for a cpl hours:poopoo: |
