Our 5th Annual Birds on the Bay FORMULA Rendezvous is set for Labor Day Weekend August 30-31, 2014.

------------ On Saturday night August 30th we are having the "Pre-Rendezvous" Dinner @ Captain's Inn on the Forked River at 6PM, join us on this night for dinner, drinks, boating stories and good times! Please let us know ahead so we can get a slip reserved for you! -----------

------------ On Sunday 11:00am is our Birds on the Bay Raft-up @ Tices Shoal on the Barnegat Bay in New Jersey. This gives us a chance to leave the land behind and spend time with our Formulas and great people where they belong, out on the water! -----------

Exact coordinates to the Raft-Up Location are - Lat 39.823089/ Long -74.094898 or 39N 49' 23.1204" / 74W 5' 41.6328

**(If weather is not in our favor there will be a backup location, or the raft-up will be postponed to the following day Monday September 1st)**

I am definitely trying to make the rendezvous this year.... Splitdecision where are you coming from in PA? I am going to trailer the Formula up to the rendezvous and looking for a recommended boat launch area... not necessarily looking to drop in right at the destination, wouldn't mind a nice cruise... just wasn't looking to cruise there from my marina on the Delaware River!

Currently trying to work my way out of this wedding set for that weekend, when is the latest you need confirmation for boat slip, dinner, etc?

DRock we need more PA Formula representation at these events. I've replied to your PM you had sent. Let me know if you have any questions. This is a real good group of guys we got, the organizer of this (IDCE) goes out of his way to make sure everyone has a good and memorable time. As all Formula Boating should be, memorable. I look forward to it every year. We've had people come down from NY for this and even have people interested from NC making the trip up. Please spread the word to any other Formula owners you know of or see out there on the Delaware.

BIRDS on the BAY Rendezvous has grown into 2 days that offer 2 different kinds of events. Both of which we get to enjoy our boats in different ways. Going to a nice dinner on the water is always a nice thing, but arriving on your Formula and being surrounded by fellow Formula owners - now that's a night! Well this is how our "Pre-Rendezvous" Dinner got its start. Four years ago, our second annual we decided to meet up the night before the Rendezvous because there were some attendees arriving in the area a day early so why not get together and enjoy the night. Every year from there the "Pre-Rendezvous" grew and turned into an event because the amount of attendees. Friends of Formula Owners even came to the dinner to check out the boats and chat with owners. We were welcomed by the owner of Captain's Inn on the Forked River, on one of the busiest weekends of the summer, Labor Day Weekend. Last year the Formula Owners of New Jersey actually reserved and filled the "North Dock" of Captain's Inn. We hogged up 3 large round top tables in their restaurant and we had ourselves a party. When the sun went down the tiki bar had music cranking and our boats were all showing off their LED treatments. This year we plan on doing the same thing, taking up "North Dock", and celebrate another summer! Captain's Inn has slips available for overnighting if you choose to do so with power. Also they serve breakfast so if you choose to stay over after the dinner, you do not have to look far for food the next morning!

The BIRDS on the BAY Raft-Up was the event that started it all. The first owner organized Rendezvous on the open waters! Of course our boats look pretty at a dock tied up but what fun is it getting together all the time surrounded by land? The Raft-Up gets us out on the water, we even setup a meet up spot at a certain time so we can run to Tices Shoal, the local hotspot, where the raft-up takes place so we can get cool photos and videos of our boats where they belong, out ripping up the water! A ZERO cost get together for any Formula owner that wants to get together with their extended boating family. Load up your cooler, pack some lunch and throw on some sunscreen and cruise on out to the Raft-Up. Usually we are in water deep enough to accommodate the largest of Formula PCs, which is usually chest deep so you can swim, walk up to the shoreline of Island Beach State Park, sit on a tube and drift away, mingle or even check out the your next Formula model someone may have. The pictures over the past few years show it all. Even if you are new at Raft-Ups let us know there will be plenty of experienced people there to assist you in!

Forked River has plenty of options for ramps, full service marinas, restaurants, etc. I will list in no particular order some options with a brief description.

All these are on the river 5-10 minutes of no wake from the "Pre-Rendezvous" location, Captain's Inn and about only a few miles across the bay from the Raft-Up location at Tices Shoal.




RSVPs and communication is crucial to the outcome of this event. We need to know how many people are showing up for dinner so we know we have a seat for you and also if you are coming by boat we need to have a slip set aside! For the Raft-Up the RSVP helps us organize the layout of boats, and it lets us alot a large enough area to drop the hook!

Last year we were dealt a different hand and had windy conditions that forced us to relocate the Raft-Up to an area better protected from wind so if we have your RSVP we can update you if there are any location changes.

So I know the old faces are in, see some interest from a couple of my fellow out of staters. Where are all the NJ owners though? We know there are tons of owners in area. You can't cruise the bay without seeing at least 5 other Formulas out there running. This is right in your backyard. Doesn't matter if your from out of state, in state, or down the block. Trust me you do not want to miss out. If anything its a night out, a reason to experience something away from the norm.

Lets get the conversation going here. We want some 419s, 382s, 353s. We wanna see some new faces, meet some new people, hear some new stories. I want a PC owner to convince me to sell my Fastech and buy a PC...GOOD LUCK WITH THAT...
