Is the 302 a good hull?

I picked up a 82 302 that needs a transom. I was just wondering if it's worth fixing

No answers huh? I do not know personally, newbie to this sport. But they have a reputation as a wave crusher if they are not rotted out. Not the fastest, but a good rough water boat. And they are flat glass, so they are the coolest design around.

Send Glassdave a PM on here... He is an expert on transom replacement. I'm sure that he can answer your question truthfully and honestly.

Thanks for the replies. I like the classic look and the flat deck just net sure if it's worth the time and effort

The 302 is a big boat that rides larger than it is, but it is not a fast hull. You might want to PM AudioFN, as he's got a 302 project boat, and a 311, and has experience with fiberglassing. Kind of surprised he's not jumped in here yet.

It is a big boat for a 30' I also know formula made it a few extra years after model changes so the could keep racing the hull, guess they liked it better than the 292 or 311?
