I have 2005 271 fastech 525 efi mint condition 150hrs,looking to move up to 292.
Not that I don't appreciate it, but your probably out of my budget range. Only looking to spend around 20-25000.00 Thats why I was not looking for a Fastech or anything in the 2000 + year model as the price jumps up alot... Thanks..
I have a 99 271 Fastech that I'm debating selling. Less then 200 hours 502 MAG. Boat is in excellent condition. I'm in North Alabama, so not close to Michigan though.
Anyone else..
Check out "the shoals" Craigslist nice 271 just listed I'll link it later from computer

Saw that one the other day. Looks like a nice boat.

If it has no trailer, did it spend its life in the water during the summer months.

Don't know, but likely has a neural interior - no green leather - big plus on resale and easier on the eyes.
You could email the guy selling it to see, looks great if it was in the water. |
Thanks... I am now looking at 1996-1999 26 foot WellCraft Scarabs instead. Do you know where some of those are with single 502's? Close to Michigan?
nope I'm a Formula guy lol
Word of warning on the Wellcraft, the company that made it is out of business. Four-Winns bought the molds and restarted the company in 2008-2010.
Cannot get factory parts for anything at all. I just bought my Formula 280SS last November, had a 2003 Wellcraft 210 Center Console. Was not able to get ANYTHING for the Wellcraft from the factory, even decals. The factory has no info at all either, they can't provide any technical assistance, unless it's the one they made. Formula will get you pretty much anything you need and knows everything about everything on their boast, best move I made in boat ownership! |
Here is my concern with the Formulas... The older Formulas have wood floors and the Scarab did not. The transom on the scarab is the only thing that has wood. PLus, I like the Lines of the scarab. They look cool.. I like the Formulas... I like the Fastech... But they are out of my league in Price. I only have around 25,000.00 to spend. I am very picky and anal. I don't want a boat that has spend its life in the water. I want one that is garage kept. I want a 96 or newer boat.. I huess I am still open to a Formula, but I have not seen one that I want yet.
This one intrigued me, but hate the colors and its a little to old.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-27-Form...wer_Motorboats |
Mine is not immaculate, but considering selling. PM me your email, and I will send you the list of options on the boat. I'm well within your budget.

k, I talked to this guy today. It looks like its got a brand new Merc Bravo 1 drive on it right from the dealer. 30hrs on the drive. It looks like he may have had an air lock from the oil resevior to the outdrive and it blew the oil all over the inside of the engine bay. That sucks... Can't see him getting that smell out... Then he had some knuckle that blew and is between the outdrive and the Motor and the motor had to be pulled to fix it. I don't think he knows exactly, but the dealer fixed it as well or a dealer. Seems like a bit of bad luck.... Just looked like a real nice boat when I started to look at it, but now I am little sketchie of it...

sounds like he had to replace the coupler
Yes... I think that was it. Seems a little weird when the boat has less then 300 hrs on it. But it is a nice boat. He is going to send me some more pics of the motor and bilge. I also have the place of the name that changed out the outdrive and its the same place that changed out the coupler.
