thu hull question
 

hey guys new to the boating world and im excited to get out there! I recently bought an 86 242ls with a little 350/260 but its my first boat and speed isn't something I need right now lol anyways I recently bought a corsa captains choice system for it with 4" tips, my question is.... I did some measuring and it looks like im going to have to get some riser spacers to allow it to be able to come out the back since the power steering piston is in the way and not only that but it is too low to the water line... I was looking into the 6" riser extensions and it appears the will exit right below the teak platform. is that a good spot? seems to be plenty high enough out of the water also will adding riser spacer give me any problems? thanks!

You might try Googling for Mercruiser specs on placement of thru hull. I found it somewhere, the only difference between alpha and bravo is a couple inches of separation.
The spec by Merc will work if all factory mounts and headers/risers.
I see you are fairly new here "Welcome".
Possibly some very helpful 242 owners will chine in and offer pictures of the inside of transom so you get a visual, heck I am going to call one of them today and I will ask him if he will reply to you. You made an excellent choice of boats for "new to boating".
Next year we will be looking for your questions on how to install 454 w/Bravo, need for speed.

What I meant was somebody WITH thru hull on 242LS might post pics so YOU could see where they fit in relationship to your steering.
