Sunsport 252
I have a 1996 Sunsport 252, it has regular seats for the helm and passenger side. I'm looking to put a bolster seat in the helm, but I want to keep the formula brand seats. Does anyone know where I can find one?

You know that they are McLeod bolster seats that Formula uses, right?
Maybe someone will chime in with a used market source . . . a new one might be more than the boat is worth  |
They do come up for sale from time to time, and they are big and comfortable. It is worth waiting for the right set to buy.

Thanks for the info!

252 Sunsport, does yours have the storage compartment in the floorboard? I just finished my Bolster install, Helm side only (for now I think I am going to keep the lounge on Port side).
If you have the compartment you may need to make some mods to the mounting hardware to keep everything functional. (pics avail upon request) Masi Mike, finally got to put full weight and "Butt Squish" on my bolster after install, your help on where to place was critical factor on "tuning" for my short legs. You are ABSOLUTLY CORRECT, the feel is night and day different. Great mod! Thank you for the help. Good Luck |
Gary, glad your making progress in the heat.

Yes I have the storage/water tank in the floor between the seats. I would like to see the after pictures. Do you have the 454 in yours? Mine was replaced with a new 383 Stroker motor.

send me your email and I will forward pics to you, I cannot post with my membership, or lack thereof.

Very nice job looks great plus lots of room

Yes it opened up a lot of space on the helm side of floorboard and storage compartment is fully functional. Makes for lots of cockpit room on the SS model.
In person it looks factory which was the plan. I am short so to move the seat forward without interference I needed to fab a new gunnel mount and to clear center compartment needed to re-work original tube assy. Thanks for the compliment. |
Glen I still never recieved the pictures to my email. It's [email protected] thanks again

Resent again,
