Anyone ever cut down a 311 windshield??

So I have been thinking of doing some different things to my 311 that I just got. And after looking at some fountain lightnings and there cut down windshields. I have been thinking of cutting it shorter then taking tinted lexan and forming it around the glass, then cutting down the lexan to slide into the window track??

Anyone done it??

Do you have any idea what one of those windshield costs?!!!

Idea: Use the windshield to make a mold, or as a template, to make a faring of the height you want. Then attach the new faring to the boat, and store or sell the windshield.

I have done minimal research, but I think forming lexan is more involved than just bending it. If I read correctly, you have to heat and form - and there is a high possibility that the lexan panel will break if heat / forming is not closely controlled.

Again, my research amounts to about 20 mins of google searching.
